What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is basically a tool to facilitate change and is completely client centred.  The conscious mind, with its anxious or analytical thoughts, is bypassed. It is the conscious mind which can often hinder the success of other forms of psychological work such as counselling or psychotherapy. Beneficial results are often achieved faster than with other therapies. Hypnotherapy makes use of positive suggestion and imagery to change the things YOU want to change. Only positive suggestions can be accepted by you that are in harmony with your values and beliefs.
Hypnotherapy can help ...
  • reduce anxiety and stress levels
  • gain control to aid weight loss
  • eating disorders
  • eliminate panic attacks
  • insomnia
  • low moods
  • overcome fears and phobias
  • improve confidence and self esteem
  • irritable bowel syndrome IBS
  • alleviate skin problems
  • sports performance
  • compulsive habits OCD
  • quit smoking
         ... and many other conditions

Research shows that there is more scientific evidence for Hypnotherapy than any other complementary therapy … by using hypnosis people can perform prodigious feats of will-power and self healing.”

Why might you consider using hypnotherapy?
Sometimes we just don’t realise when the pressures of life are getting on top of us until the strain starts to tell. We can then suffer from stress which can manifest itself in a number of ways including; panic attacks, phobias, depression and many other conditions. Often it is our behavioural patterns and negative thought processes that cause these problems, leaving us unable to cope.

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation similar to that achieved in meditation.  It is a completely safe and perfectly normal state we enter into many times a day, for example; when we are daydreaming, reading a book, watching television and doing repeated tasks. It can be described quite simply as a focus.  Contrary to what stage and television shows will have you believe, you are in complete control throughout the therapy.
